In an inspired blend of football culture and Irish hospitality, three of Ireland’s most beloved footballers swapped the pitch for the pub last Friday night. Shay Given, Ian Harte, and Clinton Morrison rolled up their sleeves to serve drinks behind the bar at The Dog in Whitechapel, celebrating the launch of a limited-edition collaboration between Jameson Irish Whiskey and PUMA.
The event marked the unveiling of a co-branded collection from two iconic names—Jameson, the world’s top-selling Irish whiskey, and PUMA, a global powerhouse in football apparel. Together, the pair have created a unique limited-edition bundle featuring a specially designed Jameson bottle and PUMA football, available exclusively through Amazon UK.
But the real celebration happened on the ground in East London. With Jameson cocktails in hand and football on the screens, fans gathered to toast the game they love. The twist? It was Given, Morrison, and Harte behind the bar, mixing up classic Jameson, Ginger & Lime serves and sharing laughs and stories from their playing days.
The party underscored the shared mission of Jameson and PUMA: to make football more inclusive, enjoyable, and community-driven. As official partners of the English Football League (EFL), both brands have championed initiatives that bring fans together, on and off the pitch.
“This launch event at The Dog with our mates at PUMA didn’t disappoint,” said Josh McCarthy, Jameson UK Brand Director. “EFL match on the TV, Irish football legends pouring the drinks behind the bar, Jameson vs PUMA at the dartboard, and all surrounded by friends, colleagues and creators from across the football community… Must Be A Jameson Pub Night.”
The evening also paid homage to Jameson’s ongoing football activations—from the long-standing EFL partnership to quirky highlights like sponsoring Newport County’s Kyle Jamson (yes, you read that right). Past collaborations with Lovers FC and Classic Football Shirts also had a presence, reinforcing Jameson’s deep ties to the beautiful game.
It was a night of pints, nostalgia, and fanfare—a celebration not just of a product launch, but of the football community at large. And with legends behind the bar and fans front and centre, it truly was a match made in football heaven.
