With the January transfer window now into its second week, a number of Irishmen have already experienced a change of scenery. We take a look at some more Irish players who could be on the move at the seasons midpoint.
Conor Coventry (West Ham United)
One of the players that didn’t get game time over the FA Cup weekend was Conor Coventry. This time last year, a loan move to MK Dons helped him and his performances for the Irish under-21’s. The midfield area is certainly one the Irish senior team need to develop debt and a good transfer could really benefit Conor in break into the senior squad.

Connor Ronan (Wolverhampton Wanderers)
A player who divides opinion but no doubt a talent who requires senior minutes. Despite being on the cusp of the first team at Wolves, he has not been able to nail down a starting position or even a regular role from the bench role. The 24 year-old shone at St. Mirren and was named their player of the year. The next move for Connor is crucial and a move abroad could potentially kickstart his career.

Jack Taylor (Peterborough United)
Another midfield player who needs a move in order to get into contention for the Irish Seniors. Often gets a mention by Stephen Kenny but rarely makes it into the squads, Taylor has been link with a move to Ipswich but could surely hack it in the Championship. He proved his competency in Englands second tier with Peterborough’s and a move back to where he is very comfortable would do his Ireland chances no harm.

Armstrong Okoflex (West Ham United)
Recalled from Swansea by West Ham after his loan deal didn’t quite work out despite some early promise. Okoflex is player with real talent but there are questions about his application as Russell Martin eluded to it in previous post match comments. His old club mate at Swansea, Michael Obafemi is also looking to force a move to Burnley which could go to the deadline day wire. Okoflex was advised by Jim Crawford to look abroad as his skill set might be better suited to these leagues.
During the World Cup, Bosun Lawal and fellow underage Irish international Rocca Vata were brought on a tour of Australia. In order for Lawal to progress, he needs a move. Having come from Watford after winning academy player of the year to the Celtic B team, some may feel his development has been stifled somewhat. Recently a move to Brentford B team was rumoured and many will hope he can secure a transfer away from Celtic Park

Dara Costelloe (Burnley)
Dara Costelloe had a great start to the season with Burnley but unfortunately he hasn’t been able to break back into Vincent Kompany’s plans of late. In those first few games you could see the pace, power and technical ability but also a lack of experience which has counted against him with Burnley chasing promotion. Luke McNally could also do with that enhanced experienced but will be glad to have seen game time over the weekend. The young defender is highly rated and Burnley fought off many clubs to secure him from Oxford United last summer.
